Monthly picks – Clean Up Corsham
If you, like us, are fed up with the litter that lines our streets and would like to team up with like-minded people to do something about it then it’s easy, take part in our organised monthly litter picks.
- We meet at 10am at the Springfield Campus car park on the 4th Saturday of the month
- We provide all necessary equipment including gloves (though it would be helpful if you could bring your own), litter picking tools, bags and high visibility jackets
- We meet back at the Campus at 12 noon, the Council will dispose of the rubbish collected
- We have a well earned coffee and cake!
Monthly picks – Other
If you cannot make the Clean Up Corsham litter picks there are other organised litter picks which take place in surrounding areas including monthly ones in Rudloe and Box.
Rudloe – 1st Sunday of each month, meet at the junction of Leafy Lane and Boxfield Road at 10.00am. Contact is Dave Wright – firstname.lastname@example.org. See ‘Other litter groups’ tab for dates.
Box – Dates TBA – meet at the junction of Bargates and the A4 (opposite the surgery) at 10.00am. Contact is Marilyn Tye – email@example.com. See ‘Other litter groups’ tab for dates.
Individuals – speaking to people recently about litter it turns out that there are quite a few litter heroes who regularly go out and about litter picking on their own or with a relative or friend. If there are just a few of you and you would like to do this, we can lend you a few litter pickers, bags and hi-visibility jackets for a few hours. Why not combine this with a walk and get some exercise at the same time! Contact Jane Roberton for details – Tel: 07929 996729
Groups – if you belong to a club or other organisation and would like to organise a litter pick of your own, please contact Ros Griffiths, Community Engagement Manager, Wiltshire Council on 01225 718372 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. She can help with equipment and arrange for the resulting rubbish to be disposed of by the Council. Note, that at least 2 weeks’ notice is required so that the rubbish pickup can be scheduled with the refuse collectors.
