Transition Community Corsham

Transcoco aims to develop local solutions to local sustainability issues, helping to address the global challenges of climate change, depleting fossil fuel resources and other environmental challenges. By finding sustainable local solutions, we will help make the Area a more positive and rewarding place to live, work and visit, and contribute to creating a more sustainable future for everyone. We meet on the fourth Tuesday of every month, except August and December, at 7.30pm at Pound Arts, Corsham SN13 9HX. Everyone is welcome at these open meetings where we discuss new ideas and initiatives and progress on all our existing projects.

It felt good to be able to commemorate the Centenary of WW1 in such a peaceful way and to be contributing to our environmental pledge to reduce carbon in our atmosphere. The call has gone out to plant more trees. We have done a tiny bit to help. Thanks again to Corsham Town Council, to Transcoco and all the families and individuals who helped us last weekend. ... Today fifteen Transcoco and community volunteers planted 30 trees, ten silver birch ten rowan and 10 wild cherry on Beechfield Nature Reserve Middlewick Lane, Corsham. The trees were supplied by The Woodland Trust and planted to commemorate the centenary of the end of WW1 as part of a Wiltshire Council scheme. Corsham Town Council worked closely with Transcoco to enable the planting to go ahead on Council land and they will take on the maintenance of the trees. Thanks to all those who made this tree planting such a success, to Transcoco, the volunteers, the Woodland Trust and Corsham and Wiltshire Councils. ... See MoreSee Less
